Responsible Management

Stifel governance includes “responsible caretaking,” with policies in place to ensure accountability and balanced leadership across all management operations. In accordance with NYSE and SEC rules, our Board of Directors is composed of two internal employee directors and ten independent directors. Our board committees include Audit, Compensation, Nominations and Corporate Governance, and Risk Management, the members of which are 100% independent.

Our firm’s dedication to corporate sustainability is prioritized across Stifel’s leadership, as we recognize the vital connection between Stifel’s commitment to corporate sustainability and its long-term value creation. Quarterly discussions play a pivotal role in ensuring the continued growth and integration of sustainability practices at Stifel. Oversight of the firm's sustainability and responsibility efforts falls under the purview of the Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee, which receives regular updates on Stifel's diverse sustainability initiatives from Stifel’s Chief Corporate Responsibility Officer.

Stifel is dedicated to ensuring our clients’ information is handled with skill and accountability, and is carefully safeguarded against any potential risk. Our associates complete comprehensive training to ensure that they are equipped with the knowledge and skills to adhere to industry best practices and protect the interests of our clients. Additionally, Stifel's approach to data privacy and cybersecurity is robust, leveraging frameworks like the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s (NIST) Cybersecurity Framework and the Center for Internet Security’s (CIS) Critical Security Controls. In 2023, we continued to grow our talented data security team and invest in resources to maintain the advanced integrity of our data security programs.
